Hyperfocus of the Week: Reading

This has been a busy week! Porter is fifteen!

For his birthday we went out for breakfast, got a haircut and a new keyboard, and then took the other kids on an outing so he could play computer games in peace.

Violet and I had our last bowl making class,

I’ve officially retired from the NWWC board, and I geared up to start my summer series.

For the next three months, instead of a Craft Talk every week, ya’ll are going to get a book review and matching writing prompt!

I put out a general call for book recommendations from my friends and got an exciting list put together. This week I read four of those books. One I loved, one was fine, and two were slogs. That said, I did start with a couple of the books I was least excited for to get them out of the way.

There is something that feels terribly indulgent about reading a book a day. My goal was to get several done so I could front load my blogs for the next month or so and that had me cranking through pages. I don’t have a formal plan when it comes to the order I’m reading; mostly it’s what the library has on hand.

Anyhoo, first review goes up Wednesday and I hope you’ll all check it out then!
