I finished a book this week! Well, the first draft…sort of. Even before it was done I knew there was a chapter that needed to be rewritten for content, and there are plenty of short chapters that need some arena bulking, and that pesky emotional through line of course. But all that will happen in a few months.
I’d like to claim that I took the rest of the week of from jumping into projects because I was giving myself a brain break, but really? Me?
Instead I checked a few other big emotional weights off my list: Specifically finishing up my Canva presentations for SquatchCon, and getting my activity packet completed.

While not writing related, I got my seeds in dirt and then into my pop-up greenhouse;

the rest of my cacti and succulents have migrated back to their tri-season home on the sunporch; and I have a solid menu plan for Easter/Pepper’s birthday.

To top off the good stuff, two of my big kids were home for spring break, and there is no longer a hole in the side of my house.

We had an early celebration for Pepper at Finn River Cidery, and did some garage sale shopping which resulted in an elderly but well maintained and very inexpensive bandsaw named Gary moving into my woodshop.
My hyper focus of the week was getting all the things done that needed doing before I jump into my next project. I’m getting there. There are four days left in the month and I have one big goal left: applying to teach at the local community college. I have a feeling cover letters are going to be next week’s hyper focus…..or Holy Week.
Regardless! Have a lovely week folks and let your brain wander as Gandalf taught us.
