If I were a Dungeons and Dragons character…
Name: Sally Bays (Leamy)

Distinguishing features: Numerous triceratops tattoos, often seen wearing history museum or library reading program tee shirts.
No question my class would be Bard. Between singing with The Northwest Women’s Chorale and all the storytelling I do…There are some occasional barbarian rages when someone eats tortilla chips too close to me though.
My Stats are all fairly decent. I would give myself a +3 for Int thanks to my BA in English from Colorado State, Certificate of Gerontology from CCC, and MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Kentucky U. Charisma is a wash because while I am an extrovert, the social anxiety gets the best of me sometimes. Strength and Dex are solid thanks to my occasional hyperfocusing on weight lifting and yoga.
My background/early character arc mirrors that of many neuro-spicy women who came up undiagnosed in the ’90s; jumping from job to job, getting married, having kids, taking up hobbies, collecting degrees. I also spent fifteen years as a military spouse which took me across the world and back.
Special skills: I do (and teach) all the fiber arts outside of tatting and lace making. There is a big food=love tradition in my family and I can replicate almost any food for any special diet (my regular cooking is pretty magical too). I am a cracker jack Alto 1.
Kryptonite: Tortilla chips. Exhaust fans. Shrill screaming children. All three wipe my brain of any cohesive thought but escape. Also, while not quite as dramatic: I have never successfully mixed cement for construction or art purposes.
Allies: John (aka: JP, JohnPhillip, JPB, John Peanutbutter, etc) husband extraordinaire who finds me fascinating and makes breakfast every morning.
The kiddos: Cai (21), Pepper (20), Ashybeans (16), P (14,) V(12), M(8), and L(3)
My mom, Grammasquatch, who lives next door; my houseplant partner in crime.
Organizations: The White Crane Philosophical Society: Literary Division (Also the Board Game division, and D&D Division) A not at all exclusive group who meets in a secret training lair below the streets of Port Angeles, WA.
