I spent a lot of time this week making flyers. The Third annual Clallam County Safety Fair is just around the corner and as the outside booth co-coordinator, I’ve been putting together booths for first aid, communication, and a shelter demonstration. This all leads me to Canva.
Canva, for those like me who had no idea, is a free website (with optional paid subscription) that has all the functionality of Windows programs but far easier to navigate and share. Using Erin Stoffel’s art, I made the poster below in about five minutes. When we needed to change a few things up it took the click of a button.

Another handy feature is the QR code generator. In my pre-Canva life I hated generating QR codes because all the websites seemed sketchy or asked for personal information. Canva makes it easy peasy and I have never had issues with them selling my information to scam callers.

I started using power point back in the Windows 95 days and have had issues with it ever since. Canva allows me to create fun presentations for my workshops on ready made templates, and then make the links available to whomever is organizing the event. It makes the process low stress, which I strive for!
Maybe this isn’t the flashiest Hyperfocus of the Week, but I like to pass on things that have made my life/work less complicated and this fits the bill. Also, I have made so many posters in the past few days…
